More than motorsport: Rare Spares and Repco power Rockynats 06

The countdown to the return of Queensland’s biggest car and bike festival is on, with Rare Spares and Repco confirmed as joint major partners for Rockynats 06, which will return to the streets of Rockhampton from April 17–19, 2026.
With its reputation continuing to grow as one of the sunshine state’s most iconic, family-friendly celebrations of motorsport, Rockynats has firmly established itself as a powerful driver of visitation, economic impact and community pride for the Rockhampton Region.
Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said the partnership announcement underlined the event’s growing significance to the local economy and community.
“Rockynats has become one of the most important major events on our calendar, delivering enormous economic and social benefits for the Rockhampton Region,” Mayor Williams said.
“Each year we see tens of thousands of visitors travel to our city, filling our hotels, caravan parks, cafes and restaurants, and Rare Spares and Repco Rockynats 06 is shaping up to be no different. The continued support of iconic Australian brands like Rare Spares and Repco reinforces the confidence industry has in this event and in Rockhampton as a destination.”
The announcement follows the success of Rockynats 05, the biggest iteration in the event’s history, with attendances exceeding 64,000 across the three days. 60 percent of attendees travelled from outside the wider Rockhampton region, highlighting Rockynats’ growing intrastate and national appeal.
Data from Tourism and Events Queensland’s latest Independent Economic Review (IER) shows that Rockynats contributed more than $8.1 million to the Rockhampton economy and over $13 million to the Queensland economy in 2025, attesting to the event’s status as a major economic driver for the region.
Speaking on Rare Spares’ long-standing involvement with Rockynats, John Iacobucci, General Manager Sales & Marketing at Rare Spares, shared their thoughts on supporting the event:
“Rare Spares has been part of Rockynats from the very beginning, and it’s a festival that truly reflects who we are as a brand. We exist to keep Australia’s classic cars alive and Rockynats celebrates that passion through the incredible machines and the people behind them.”
“We’re proud to support the builders, riders, drivers and fans who make Rockynats what it is — a community-driven event that brings together all corners of Australian motoring culture.”
Repco Executive General Manager Marketing Mitch Wiley said the partnership marked an exciting new chapter for one of the region’s most popular events.
“While this marks Repco’s first year as a partner of Rockynats, we’re proud to be joining an event with such a strong heritage, particularly alongside our long-time industry contemporaries at Rare Spares who have been part of the journey from the beginning,” Mr Wiley said.
“Rockynats has quickly become one of Queensland’s most exciting celebrations of motoring culture, and it aligns perfectly with Repco’s commitment to supporting the people who build, restore and drive the vehicles that keep our automotive passion thriving.
“We’re incredibly excited to get behind the event and the passionate motor enthusiasts of Central Queensland, and to play our part in an experience that delivers real benefits to the local community.”
Beyond the on-track action, Rockynats’ family-friendly atmosphere and expansive off-the-track entertainment program continue to be key drivers of the event’s growth, attracting fans of all ages and interests.
Rockynats 06 will once again deliver an entertainment line-up that proves the festival is about much more than motorsport, with Australian music icons Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows set to headline the main stage on Saturday night. Fan-favourite stunt teams, FMX Kaos and Hot Wheels, will also return with their epic, gravity-defying performances, alongside professional wrestling displays, the popular RockabillyNats Pin-Up Competition and Beginners Fashion Parade, and the ever-entertaining, family-friendly Mulletfest, which allows event-goers of all ages to show off their luscious locks while raising funds for the Merv Hughes Foundation.
Most importantly, every experience on the bumper off-the-track entertainment schedule is included with your Rockynats entry pass, and children aged 12 and under enter free with any valid adult pass.
