Tent City Terms, Conditions and Site Rules

Tickets to camp at the Rockynats 2026 Tent City Campgrounds are sold on behalf of Rockhampton Regional Council and Rockynats Pty Ltd (“Event Organisers”).

In addition to Rockynats Ticketing Terms and Conditions, these Tent City Terms, Conditions and Site Rules (‘Camping Conditions’) apply to all Camping Bookings. By purchasing tickets (‘Camping Booking/s’) to camp at, or by entering the Rockynats campsite (‘Campgrounds’) you agree these Camping Conditions.

  1. Camping Bookings are strictly non-refundable.
  2. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event for any reason. If the event, or any part of the event, is cancelled due to adverse weather or for any other cause reasonably beyond the Event Organisers’ control, there is no right to refund or exchange and no obligation is assumed by the Event Organiser to arrange a substitute event.
  3. Patrons must keep their site clean and tidy within marked lines.
  4. On arrival if you are issued with a Campground wristband, please treat your wristbands like cash and wear them at all times - they will not be replaced if you lose them.
  5. All vehicles, trailers, camping gear and patrons must strictly fit within allocated campsites.
  6. All vehicles must adhere to the sign posted speed limits
  7. Maximum recommended capacity of patrons allowed within your campsite are 4 (small), 6 (medium), 8 (large). Unauthorised guests are prohibited.
  8. Patrons that have campsites with power must only use the units of power that are allocated to their site. Over loading power boxes and tripping power may result in your eviction from the Campgrounds and loss of your Camping Booking. No refund will be provided and any related charges for electrician call-out fees will be on charged.
  9. Sites will be patrolled by an official each day. There will be a First Aid kit available from the Campgrounds office. If there is an emergency, please dial 000 for Emergency Services assistance. If you have any questions, queries or concerns please approach a member of staff or security.
  10. Campground patrons must not cause damage to, improperly use, or tamper with any public facility or camping infrastructure. You agree to indemnify the tent owners, staff and contractors against any loss or damage you may suffer arising out of your negligence or breach of these Camping Conditions.
  11. Campground patrons must not behave in a threatening or inappropriate manner (aggressive, riotous, abusive, or insulting actions) towards other patrons or event staff.
  12. You must follow all reasonable directions given by the Event Organisers and the Event Organisers’ personnel, employees and contractors, including Campgrounds contract staff, and security. Any reasonable directions that are not adhered to will be treated as non-compliance with these Camping Conditions and subject to eviction from the Campground and loss of Camping Bookings.
  13. The use of generators is prohibited.
  14. The Campgrounds operate on a strict No Open Fires Policy. small gas BBQs and cooktops are permitted. All LPG bottles must be in good condition and within current stamped test date. LPG fittings must also be in good condition. Safety checks may be conducted, and any unsafe items must be removed from the site. While fire extinguishers are available in the communal cooking areas, it is also recommended that patrons bring their own fire extinguisher/fire blanket for individual campsites.
  15. All fuel must remain within the patron’s transport vehicle. As per the regulations, up to 150L, may be stored per vehicle. All fuel must be stored in containers that meet the relevant Australian Standard for the type of fuel being stored.
  16. All Campground patrons must adhere to onsite signed 8km/hr speed limits.
  17. No drugs, weapons or dangerous items are permitted. Anyone found to be in possession of, supplying or consuming illicit drugs will be reported to Police immediately. This includes weapons and illegal substances or any items which may have the potential to be used in an illegal or offensive manner.
  18. Smoking is permitted in designated smoking area only. Any patron caught smoking outside of the designated smoking area will be evicted.
  19. There can be no digging of holes, or use of star pickets.
  20. Tent pegs must be no greater than 150mm
  21. Strictly no amplified music within the Campground. Patrons must adhere to no unnecessary noise onsite between 9.30pm and 7.30am
  22. No domestic animals are permitted into the Campground with the exception of trained guide dogs, assistance dogs and Police support dogs.
  23. People under 18 years of age (minors) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged over 25 years.
  24. Footwear must be worn at all times within the Campgrounds.
  25. Rockynats and/or Rockhampton Regional Council will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or theft of a person’s personal property at the Campground. Patrons that leave valuable items at the campsite or in tents, do so at their own risk.
  26. Rockynats Event Organisers reserve the right to amend or vary the campground configuration and capacity. They reserve the right to deny admission to the area with reasonable cause.
  27. Patrons must adhere to the Event Organisers’ and Queensland Health’s guidelines, protocols, health directions, requirements, and the like, at all times.
  28. Breaches of any of these Camping Conditions may result in eviction from the Campground and loss of Camping Booking, with no right to a refund or any further claim against Rockhampton Regional Council or Rockynats Event Organisers. Rockynats event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to the Campground to any patron who:

    1. Does not have a valid Camping Booking
    2. Is in possession of any prohibited or illegal objects
    3. Does not adhere to these Terms and Conditions and/or the Event Organisers’ reasonable directions.
  29. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Event Organisers do not accept liability of any nature for the acts, omissions or default of those providing services in connection with the Event or the Campground or any liability for any injury, damage, loss, delay or additional expenses which are incurred at or in association with this Event or the Campground. Where legislation implies any condition or warranty which cannot be excluded or modified, that condition or warranty will be deemed to be included in this agreement.

  30. Event Organisers’ liability for any breach of such condition or warranty will be limited, at their option, to the cost of refunding the ticket. In no event will the Event Organisers be liable for any indirect, consequential, exemplary or special damages.

Campgrounds Prohibited Items

The following restricted and prohibited items are not permitted within the Campgrounds:

  1. Glass
  2. Illegal substances, including controlled, dangerous or illicit drugs
  3. Flares or fireworks, or any fire twirling equipment
  4. Laser pointers
  5. Weapons, or resemblance of weapons, including knives, firearms, blunt offensive objects, batons and those with sharp ends
  6. Projectile items, including balls, frisbees, rackets or similar objects
  7. Bicycles, skateboards, skates, scooters and helmets of any form
  8. Political or offensive materials including protest paraphernalia and banners
  9. Recording devices (for commercial purposes) and tripods
  10. Selfie sticks
  11. Flag poles of more than 1 metre in length / banners or flags larger than 1m x 2m
  12. Domestic animals (other than trained assistance dogs)
  13. Musical instruments and noise makers, including drums, air horns and loud hailers
  14. Other items as determined by Council that may cause injury, public nuisance or safety concerns
