Maximum Madness at Rockhampton Museum of Art

Get ready to rev your engines and embark on a wild ride as Rare Spares Rockynats 04 teams up with the Rockhampton Museum of Art (RMOA) to bring you an electrifying dose of "MAXIMUM MADNESS: Art Inspired by Mad Max."

Rumbling into the Rockhampton Museum of Art just in time for Rare Spares Rockynats 04, Max’s Interceptor sets the stage for a high-octane exhibition tearing down Fury Road this March.

From March 16 to June 30, "MAXIMUM MADNESS" invites visitors to dive headfirst into a gritty, post-apocalyptic world where the visionary talents of contemporary artists collide with the pulse-pounding essence of George Miller's iconic Mad Max series.

"This isn’t your typical art show; it's a full-throttle exploration of the post-apocalyptic saga that redefined science fiction and inspired a legion of fans across biker, gearhead, and cosplay cultures," RMOA Museum of Art Director, Jonathan McBurnie said.

"With artists creating works responding directly to the supercharged, nitro-sucking visions of Miller, Kennedy and their many collaborators, it’s time for MAXIMUM MADNESS.”

“As part of Rockynats’ off-track entertainment, we are so excited to see that attendees can make a pit stop at the Rockhampton Museum of Art in the CBD Precinct to experience "MAXIMUM MADNESS" firsthand,” Advance Rockhampton, Tourism and Events Manager Zac Garven said.

“But the post-apocalyptic fun doesn’t stop there! Mad Max enthusiasts can also buckle up for a nostalgic drive-in movie experience at Rockynats on Saturday, March 30th, featuring the adrenaline-fueled masterpiece, Mad Max: Fury Road.”

“Don't miss your chance to relive the nostalgia of the original Mad Max at Rockhampton Museum of Art and the adrenaline of Mad Max on the big screen at our drive-in.”

Drive-in movie entry is included as part of Rockynats entry. Vehicle entrants can park up, while spectators can bring a picnic rug or camp chair for a night under the stars.
