There’s even more horsepower heading to Rare Spares and Repco Rockynats 06 this year, with the return and expansion of one of 2025’s most talked-about additions: trucks.

Following a strong debut at Rockynats 05, where a static showcase of big rigs captured the attention of fans young and old, trucks will return in 2026 with a much larger footprint. The Truck Display will once again take over the Robert Schwarten Outdoor Pavilion within the FMX Kaos Showgrounds Precinct from Friday through to Sunday, delivering an impressive and immersive showcase across the entire weekend.

Display organiser Jason Birse said this year’s lineup will feature more than double the number of trucks compared to last year, offering an even broader and more diverse range of machinery.

“People think they spend a lot of money on cars but wait ‘til you see the money that goes into some of these trucks,” Jason says excitedly.

From vintage classics and hardworking rigs to elite show trucks and multi-million-dollar builds, the expanded display highlights the full spectrum of Australia’s trucking scene. Attendees can expect everything from meticulously restored heritage models to cutting-edge custom builds, all presented with the kind of detail, polish and pride the industry is known for. While many of the trucks are based in the greater Rockhampton region, several will travel from across Queensland to be part of the showcase, adding to the scale and variety on offer.

The display will give spectators the opportunity to get up close to the rigs, with the truck owners on-site to show off their machines and share the stories behind them while a dedicated People’s Choice Award will provide the opportunity to vote for your favourite truck, adding an interactive element to the experience. On Sunday at 1pm, fans will also be able to witness the unmistakable sound of a full-scale horn blast-off, a standout moment that’s sure to drawn attention and be a hit with the crowds.

For Jason, the continued growth of the truck display reflects a deep-rooted passion for big rigs that is shared across generations.

“Every kid love seeing a big truck, and the big kids do too,” he said. “There’s a point where just every kid thinks trucks are one of the coolest things ever growing up and for people like me, that fascination never goes away.”

Birse’s own passion for trucks runs deep, having grown up with his Dad owning trucks before spending a decade in local truck sales, building strong connections with truckies across the region. Those relationships have played a key role in bringing the expanded truck program to life at Rockynats.

Entry to the truck display is included with all Rockynats 06 admission passes. Visit https://www.rockynats.com.au/Tickets to secure yours.
