After a hugely successful Rare Spares Rockynats 02 attracting a record of over 52,000 patrons for the Easter long weekend event, Rockhampton Regional Council is excited to announce the 2023 dates.

The high-octane event will return for Easter 2023 from 7-9 April, and will once again bring tens of thousands of residents and visitors to our region including the die-hard motorsport enthusiasts.

Rockhampton Region Mayor Tony Williams said after the success of yet another Rockynats event for our region, the anticipation of the Rockynats 03 date announcement has been huge.

“With a 15% increase in attendees this year, we can only expect Rockynats 03 to be even bigger,” Mayor Williams said.

Summernats co-owner Andy Lopez said the support for this year’s event exceeded expectations.

“Rockynats 02 broke plenty of records; a total of 93 burnout cars took to the pad, laying down over 200 burnouts collectively. The prestigious Show ‘n’ Shine competition also attracted in excess of 1300 entries from car and bike enthusiasts across Australia and 1152 cars and bikes participated in the largest street parade of its kind in Australia,” Mr Lopez said.

“Rockynats 02 has proven this event is right up there with Summernats and the Red CentreNATS as one of the not-to-be missed motorsport events in the country!”

Advance Rockhampton Executive Manager Greg Bowden is encouraging the community and our local businesses to gear up and get ready for another great Easter long weekend in 2023.

“With over 6.6 million dollars of overnight visitor expenditure during what was once was a quiet long weekend for the region demonstrates the huge impact Rockynats has on the local economy. In addition to the motoring components, Rockynats 02 had something for everyone with live music, Mullet Fest and the Rockabilly Pinup Competition just to name a few great additions,” Mr Bowden said.

“Hosting this high-octane event right on our doorstep is not only fantastic for local motorsports fans but brings in visitors from across the country to stay and enjoy our beautiful region.”

Rockynats is proudly sponsored by Rockhampton Regional Council and presented by Advance Rockhampton in association with Summernats.
