We're ready to rock!

Three significant sponsor signings have been confirmed ahead of Australia’s newest major motorsport spectacular – the 2021 Rare Spares Rockynats - hitting the streets of Rockhampton over the Easter long weekend (2-5 April).

McDonalds Central Queensland’s local franchisees will boast a bursting program of events as sponsor of the Showgrounds Precinct, Burson Auto Parts is sponsor of the Drifting Precinct while punters will have Garrett Advancing Motion to thank for the central city Street Drags.

Advance Rockhampton Manager Tourism, Events and Marketing, Annette Pearce said everything is in readiness for a jam-packed program of cruising, burnouts, live entertainment, drifting, bikes, Show ‘n’ Shine, the most unique modified cars in the country and plenty more.

“Rockynats will be Queensland’s first major regional festival after the coronavirus pandemic and we are getting amazing support from local businesses and national operations keen be part of the action,” Ms Pearce said.

“We are very happy to welcome these latest three sponsors onboard and we appreciate their commitments to our inaugural event and the celebration of motorsport in this country.

“Importantly they are helping to provide a platform for Rockhampton to once again showcase its capabilities as a festival city and demonstrate that events are back and can be delivered in a COVID- safe manner for all to enjoy.”

Ms Pearce said the three precincts will be pumping.

The McDonalds Central Queensland Showgrounds Precinct will be home to the Elite Show ‘n’ Shine - a top 30 showcase of the best and brightest modified entrant vehicles.

The busy precinct will also feature trade sites, live music and carnival rides as well as provide the start and finish point of the iconic Street Parade, which will see hundreds of cars cruise through the city centre to officially open the throttle on the event on Good Friday.

The Garrett Advancing Motion Street Drags Precinct will see Rockhampton’s historic CBD transformed into a car lovers paradise, with 1/8-mile Street Drags at the eastern end of Quay Street, while the Burson Auto Parts Drifting Precinct at the Victoria Riverside Car Park will feature drifting demonstrations by some of Australia’s top sideways drivers.

The 2021 Rare Spares Rockynats – the Rockhampton Nationals - are managed by the same team behind the time-honoured Summernats in Canberra and the hugely popular Red-CentreNats in Alice Springs.

The Rockhampton edition is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council, Naming Rights Sponsor Rare Spares and supporting precinct and event sponsors.
